The festival’s opening ceremony will take place on Friday November 10th at 9.30 p.m. at the Teatre Cirvianum in Torelló with a tribute to Jordi Pons, one of the great names of Catalan mountaineering who knew how to combine his passion for the mountains with film for over 60 years. The opening ceremony will include the screening of his films and the testimony of many of his fellow adventurers from around the world. The ceremony will be presented by Ferran Latorre and the TV3 journalist, Marta Bosch. Later you will be able to enjoy a beer from the Montseny in the theatre foyer.

In addition, this year the festival will also include a pre-inauguration, which will be held the day before in the Cirvianum, on November 9th, and will involve a concert by Exaudio d'Igualada, a group made up of 32 girls who will perform a repertoire of music with the mountain as a common denominator and which will include pieces by composers such as Mendelssohn, Schumann or Brahms.

All of them will compete for the top prize: La Flor de Neu d'Or (Golden Edelweiss). The event will also screen renowned international films from around the world, such as Dirtbag: the legend of Fred Beckey's, a film directed by Dave O’Leske that narrates the 94-year story of this American climber who has dared to scale the most difficult rock-faces on the planet.
